no support from creativeStrengths: good imitation of breakfast cereal Weakness: creative creatives support is nonexistent. By the time they have support for windows 7 microsoft will have windows 8 on the market. Do some research, they make hardware not software or drivers. They never got full driver support for there products and windows vista. THEY JUST DON'T CARE 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great sound card, made well for gamesStrengths: Small form factor, nice sound, great for gaming Weakness: Extra software but some people want that I guess. Very good card, especially now that the price is dropping. I really like the smaller size as I have a pretty full case and this size helps with cooling and air flow. Recommended sound card. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great Hardware / Typical Creative SoftwareStrengths: PCI-E Interface, great sound output, digital optical TOSLINK In/Out, easy installation Weakness: lacks HDMI and front panel headers, Creative drivers and software I installed this card a replacement for an older Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty (PCI with Front Panel Expansion). One thing to remember - UNINSTALL OLD CREATIVE DRIVERS WHILE THE CARD IS STILL IN. Windows Vista hides drivers of any missing peripherals. Initially, the new drivers would not install because it saw the old drivers and I couldn't remove them without putting the card back in. Ultimately, I found a program to sweep away all the Creative software. After that, the drivers installed successfully. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty ProfessionalStrengths: Easy to install, drivers that came with the card worked fine (for once). No compatibility issues with any games. Music sounds great, far better than my onboard sound or old Audigy 2 ZS. Weakness: Bloated software, some menus or features are buried. Four speaker outputs on the card was not initially compatible with my Inspire P7800 speakers, had to buy an additional cable for 7.1 sound. Overall I'm very happy with this sound card, it's a great replacement for my old card. The PCI-E interface is a nice feature as well. Creative is notorious for its driver problems but I haven't had any problems with this card so far. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Excellent high-end sound card
Strengths: Excellent sound quality, slight benefit in frame rate in some games
Weakness: Cost, takes up a slot
The onboard sound on my motherboard was giving me fits with some games. Firmware updates didn't help. Decided it was time to go with a different hardware solution altogether. Went with a higher end card because my machine is an all-purpose box: DVDs, music, games. And I have decent Klipsch speakers that warrant a better-than-average card. This Creative card has not disappointed in that regard. Saw a definite but minimal improvement with CPU utilization too. Games that used to choke on audio (UT 3, I'm looking at you) now run appropriately. Costlier solution than some might require.
