Core 2 Duo E4400

Strengths: Excellent overclocker. Great Value

Weakness: none

This is a pretty good cpu for its price. Good overclocking potential. Currently OC'd to 3.0Ghz running on an abit ip35 pro mobo. I'm very pleased with this processor and I would recommend it.

Intel C2D e4400 Retail CPU

Strengths: Great overclocker with 10X multiplyer

Weakness: Included stock fan isn't too great

This cpu is great at stock voltage but even better if you plan to overclock. This cpu is ~8 dollars more than the e4300 however this one has 10X multiplyer instead of 9X on the e4300. The e4400 with 10X multiplyer will give you a better overclock in addition you won't need high end hardware to achieve a good overclock. Compared to the e6xxx C2D this one only has 2MB of cache, however once...

Good overclocking chip

Strengths: Was able to overclock to 3.0GHz without modification. Computer seems very snappy with this processor installed

Weakness: Included heatsink and fan, while quiter than past Intel HSFs, is still much noisier than many aftermarket replacements

Even though it is the second-slowest Core 2 Duo chip, I decided on the E4400 since reports have said that it can be overclocked to almost the same speeds as it's more expensive cousins. The reviews didn't lie. With the stock cooler and an MSI P6N Platinum motherboard, I was able to get this chip running at 3.0GHz with no problems. With better cooling, I could probably push it to 3.2GHz. For...

Core 2 Duo E4400 Dual Core Processor

Strengths: Dual core 2MB L2 cache, Conroe stepping, 10 multiplier, overclockable, price

Weakness: HSF and fan, HSF connection

Easy OC to 3.0 Ghz without overheating. Would recommend aftermarket hsf. The multiplier will allow higher overclocks on cheaper motherboards and memory. With the price reductions and mb compatibility this e4400 would be a great value for someone wishing to overclock with limited budget.

awesome overclocker

Strengths: on my Gigabyte ga965p-ds3 it beat the hell out of anything inclucing e6700 !

Weakness: for the price there is none!

I had E6320 but now I'm running on E4400 because it beats anything retail, but still I am looking to get my hands on new 1333FSB core 2 duo processors. If you have a good boards with overclocking ability there is no reason to spend more on other processors up to e6700 because if you overclock this beast it beats any other cpu running on stock speed for fraction of the price, the reason is high...

Bang for your buck

Strengths: Speed, price, overclocking ability

Weakness: None

This is an excellent chip for overclockers as it is cheap and has a lot of potential. Out of the box I was able to get mine to 400 x 8 without any issues. Depending on the price difference, the E4300 might be the better buy because the 10x multiplier on the E4400 is only useful if you can't reach a high FSB. At the time I bought this one, it was the same price as the E4300 so it was a no-brainer.

Core 2 Duo E4400 Dual Core Processor 2Ghz

Strengths: will play serious games!

Weakness: not Expensive

went with the E4400 because I didnt want to go broke buying 1066 memory. Glad I did , saved enough to buy a new video card and the rig will play all my games without effort! these dual cores are that fast!

I bought this processor to make a retro-neo AGP...

Strengths: -Price/performance -Core 2 Duo Technology

Weakness: Locked multiplier

I bought this and another processor to make to systems (this one with a Media PC in mind). I paired this processor with a very low budget Gigabyte AGP graphics Motherboard. -I wanted to be able to use Core 2 Duo processing power with an AGP All-In-Wonder.--- The venture has been less successful than I had hoped for. Mostly due to two factors, ATI's terrible All-In-Wonder drivers and the...

Core2Duo E4400 SLA3F (L2 Stepping)

Strengths: Price! I bought mine for about $106. Runs Cool.

Weakness: None for this entry level Core2Duo.

I was hoping to receive the newer the SLA98(M0 stepping) but received the SLA3F(L2) instead. This may not be bad because most Core2Duo motherboard/BIOS support the L2 and not the M0 stepping. SLA98(M0) requires newer BIOS upgrade and most motherboard manufacturer does not have the upgrade ready. To save postage and time, I choose to keep mine even when my BIOS supports the newer M0 stepping. I...

Core 2 Duo E4400

Strengths: Fast as you know what and easily overclocks.

Weakness: none

I picked this puppy up to upgrade my aging Pentium D 925 and it was the best money I have spent on upgrades to my machine. I have it easily overclocked with stock cooling to 2.8 and it runs about 38-40 under some heavy use. If you want bang for your buck, the E4300,4400 and 4500 are your best bets.
